Endowment Funds

Endowment Funds are established in your name, or in your family’s name. The donor’s name will be inscribed on the Jewish Hospital of Hope Eldercare Foundation’s Endowment Fund donor board – In Honour of a family member or friend, or In Memory of a loved one.

Revenues are held for a minimum period of ten years, and only the interest generated from these funds can be used by the Centre. After the ten year period, the endowment fund capital is used by the Centre as specified by the donor, or used for general support of programs and quality of care for our residents.

Minimum initial donation: $1,200

Major Gifts

There are many major gift opportunities available at the Jewish Eldercare Centre. Your gift of $5,000 or more will be used to acquire much needed equipment, new living and dining areas as well as social and recreational programs, to name but a few.

We would be pleased to meet with you to discuss your desired level of support, as well as your much-deserved recognition.

Naming Opportunities

Many naming opportunities are still available at the Jewish Eldercare Centre. Your name or your family’s name will be attached, in perpetuity, to a wide choice of equipment, activity rooms, dining rooms, living areas, therapeutic recreation programs, nursing units and other areas, at many levels of support.

Yartzheit Plaques

Inscribe the name of a loved one on a Yartzheit Plaque, installed in either one of the two synagogues at the Jewish Eldercare Centre. A very spiritual way of remembering the dearly departed, in perpetuity.

Yartzheit Plaque Donation: $380

Paperman Family Tree of Life

Sponsor a leaf or stone on the Paperman Family Tree of Life, in honour of a special family member, or in memory of a loved one.

Leaf: $500
Stone: $1,200

Mezuzah Program

By dedicating a Mezuzah, in honour of a family member, or in memory of a loved one, you can ensure that the Torah’s goal of Mezuzah, to sanctify the Jewish place of residence, is fulfilled.

Donate a mezuzah: $180

Tribute Cards

Tribute Cards sent on your behalf by the Jewish Hospital of Hope Eldercare Foundation are an ideal way to express condolences, honour a family member or friend, or celebrate a joyous occasion. At the same time, you are supporting initiatives to improve the quality of life of our frail elderly residents.

A beautiful and artistic card is mailed with your personal message and an acknowledgement of your generous donation to the Foundation.

The minimum recommended donation is $18 or multiples of $18.

Bequests and Planned Giving

Plan now to make a gift in the future, to continue to help the Jewish Eldercare Centre in its vital mission to care for the frail elderly of our community.

Planned Gifts are generally funded from a donor’s assets, rather than from a person’s current income. The easiest and most common form of planned gift is a bequest made through your will. The donor’s estate almost always receives major tax benefits from a charitable bequest.

Other types of planned gifts which will benefit the Jewish Eldercare Centre are: Gift Annuities, Gifts of Residual Interest, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Life Insurance Policies and Gifts of Securities.

Some forms of planned gifts allow you to make a gift in the future, while receiving significant tax benefits during your lifetime.
